Project Manager's Dilemma
|
You're a quarterback for three different football games on three different
fields
- all at the same time.
Everyone on your team is involved with three other games on three other fields with three other quarterbacks.
The coach is clear that all of those other games are more important than
any of your games.
You don't have any huddles with any of your teams, and nobody reports to you.
On every play two (or more) players have to touch the ball.
There are not enough players on any of your teams. Each player is really good, but can only play one (or two) of four downs.
You can not give the ball to a team member. You have to leave the ball for him to pickup.
When your player picks it up he will *not* notify you. When he's done he will *not* notify you.
You will then need to pick up the ball and leave it for the next player.
(Because the other games are more important than your game the coach may bring in another player from another sport to fill in)
When your player picks it up he will *not* notify you. When he's done he will *not* notify you.
And we're trying to do twice as many games twice as fast with the same number of players.
